When times changes, so should your home.
Festive season changes
If you have great memories of festive season as a kid, chances are at least one grown-up cared about you and worked really hard behind the scenes to give your holiday that added touch of jingle.
It’s a fact that, as we grow up, our family dynamics and the roles we play changes. From being the kid that was at the centre of the holiday planning and the recipient of the magic, to the grown-up doing the planning themselves, its just a normal progression whenever families, friends or loved ones come together.
The Host with the Most
However, an important part of changing family dynamics, is the necessary changes to the venue that hosts the get-together.
In a traditional sense, Christmas is often hosted by whoever is the “senior” family member. This can be parents, eldest siblings or even extended family that somehow fulfil the roll of seasonal hosts. (Maybe the uncle with the farm or the Auntie with the pool?)
Change is inevitable.
As traditional as any family festive fête is, life dictates that change is constant and you might very well find that you are suddenly the default host and now you need to upgrade your venue or at least move some things around to make space for the party.
There are a couple of aspects that a successful seasonal host venue needs:
What’s cooking?
Whether you do a traditional warm cooked Christmas lunch, a proudly South African braai or some kind of laid-back hybrid, you are still going to need a food preparation area.
If you are lucky enough to have newly renovated kitchen, a brand new indoor/outdoor braai and patio area and four extra refrigerators in the garage…Well, you are sorted. If, however, you are a normal homeowner who is still trying to find their feet and only has one refrigerator, we have you covered.
