Show your Home Some Love  

There are many ways to show your home some love. It also does not have to be in the form of home maintenance. Sometimes it’s the small things that make home a little bit more special and in this case a bit more romantic.  

Create a Sanctuary  

Even in the smallest of homes, you can take the time to create a sanctuary for yourself. A place of stillness tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the usual activities surrounding your home. Something as easy as laying out a yoga mat next to a pile of books can work great. If you have the space, create a space with one large couch or elegant armchair. Make sure the space is free from external noise. You can also use this space to listen to music, read your favourites or just to take a nap in. Add meaningful touches to your space and it will be a place of refuge in no time.  

Light those Candles  

Admit it. We all have candles lying around our homes that we only use when we have load shedding. Beautiful candles are not only a great gift to give or receive as a homeowner. Candles should be used for good reason. Light your tealights on your coffee table when you turn the lights down while watching a movie. That pillar candle on your dining room table is also begging to be lit – even if it’s just for Sunday lunch. Your bathroom is a great place to light candles and whether it’s a relaxing bath or shower, lighting a candle will bring that spa feeling into your home.  

Try a Small DIY Project  

Maybe you need some extra shelving or your child needs a new toy box to better suit his room. Trying out a small DIY project is a great way to connect with your home. You will be happy to show it off and even happier that you made your space a better one.  

Rearrange your Coffee Table and Benchtops  

Coffee tables and benchtops are notorious for getting cluttered with all the wrong things. How many times have you found the most random objects in these places?! Take some time to rearrange your coffee table and de-clutter your benchtops in the kitchen.   

Use only what you need on your benchtops and choose only a few favourite things for your coffee table.  

Use your Nice Things  

Sometimes we wait for a special occasion to bring our fancy things out. The bottom line is this – if you have nice things, use it. It will make you feel happier at home if you indulge in the beautiful things you have collected over time. Use your Fine China when it’s date night with your partner at home.
