Outdoor Games to make Kids Hoppy
Passover is around the corner and there are a few fun ways to keep the kids busy while you prep for your long weekend! While the grass is still green and the temperatures pleasant, take advantage of the time to spend outside with your family and friends with these outdoor games for kids.
Egg Toss
Create the ultimate egg-tossing game with two to five hula hoops and wooden or plastic eggs. This is great for kids aged 3 and up! Lay your hoops on the grass and assign a point value to each (e.g., the closest hula hoop is 10 points and the furthest hula hoop is 50). Give each player five wooden eggs. Have them toss the eggs into the hoops to see who can get the most points.
Bunny Hop
A sack race is always a fun way for the whole family to enjoy time together. Set up each player with a sack or bag appropriate for hopping in and race to the finish line. Get creative with your sack and add a cute, fluffy pom-pom for bunny tails.
Egg and Spoon Race
It may seem like an outdated game, but a good egg and spoon race is always a lot of fun. Bring the family together and race to the finish line without dropping the egg. You can use wooden and plastic eggs for this to minimise the mess.
Leaf and Flower Threading
This one is great for little ones under 3. This threading activity is great for developing fine motor skills. Start by exploring the garden with your little one and find leaves and flowers that will work well. You can rinse the leaves and flowers and give them a moment to dry. This easy step-by-step leaf threading DIY will help you make the most of it!
Touchers!
Who doesn’t love a good game of touchers? Instead of hiding chocolate eggs in the garden, strap a few chocolate eggs and sweets to a family member. Wear them on a t-shirt or throw small chocolate eggs in your pockets. Give the kids a good run around by letting them try and snatch them from you. Whoever snatches the most goodies wins!
