Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo and WODC Launches Concrete Design Competition

Anyone, from architects to designers, artists to the general public, were invited to enter. The 40+ designs, brought to life by World of Decorative Concrete (WODC), will be on display and visitors are invited to bid on their favourites. All funds raised will be donated to DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group).

The competition, which will showcase more than 40 of the best and most innovative concrete designs, will offer visitors the opportunity to bid on their favourites. Says Sandy Edwards, HOMEMAKERS Branch Manager and Expo Organiser – Cape:  “We were completely blown away by the entries! Combining concrete with one other natural element such as glass, granite, leather, metal, stone or wood, participants went all out to impress with designs ranging from coffee tables to salad bowls!” The top 40 designs will be brought to life by WODC at no cost to the entrant.

Johan Coetzee, CEO and owner of WODC adds: “Being the leader in the decorative and functional concrete sphere, we were completely over the moon with the outstanding entries we received. There is such fantastic talent out there! We hope the competition will become a regular feature at the Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo.” 

Entries will be on display for the duration of the Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo and judged by an independent panel. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of R7 000, second place will get R2 000 and third R1 000.
