Ancient loveseat be gone!
So you’ve realised the magic of having a custom fit home. You’ve had your bespoke entertainment centre and bookshelf crafted. Your television is in the perfect spot, your reading nook nearly ready.
But what will you sit on? Where will you curl up with your bae, blanket and bag of bad life choice snacks? Binging by its very meaning can only happen if you’re comfortable enough to watch all three thousand hours of the Kardashians. Or The office. (…or a very erudite documentary about history or something else, you big brain!)
Now you might say: “But I have a sofa. I’ve had it since I was a student…”
Exactly. We are not saying you are old, but we are saying your love seat is probably ancient.
Be honest – is that really good enough? Your booty deserves bespoke comfort!
Obviously, you might not have a bespoke budget, so we are here to give you options!
If you can’t afford bespoke, then you can al least do custom (ish). Modular and multipurpose soft furnishings are all the rage at the moment, and we are here for it.
What is a modular sofa?
Modular sofas mean a sofa you can “build” based on your needs. Have a large family? Get a corner unit that seats 8. Just you and bae? Get an updated love seat with cuddle space and a broad enough arm rest for your drink, snack, phone and remote. You and your fur babies? Make it leather so their hair doesn’t stick.
Build it and they will come…
These modular sofas are square or rectangular blocks with varied back and arm rests as well as customisable dimensions and upholstery options.
When it comes to roomy comfort and classic style, this four piece modular sofa ticks all the boxes. You can use it as a sofa or furnish a whole room by splitting it up. Think of it as an investment in your long-term comfort…
Another one we love is the Vetsak three seater modular sofa. It’s a bit of a spend, but you get so much bang for your buck. With multiple different options you can really customize your comfort with this one
Beans about comfort!
Beanbags have undergone a serious Glow-Up. Vetsak and Happysak both offer locally made customisable bags that can add comfort to any room.
They are no longer just for teenagers or sold on street corners in lurid pleather colours. These days you can get an infinitely classy grown up “bean bag” (or Sak as they are apparently now called) in a whole range of lux fabrics and aesthetically pleasing muted earth tones.
Most of these “Saks” come with removable, washable covers, and they come in anything from XS (Sits one child) to XXXL (Sits THREE WHOLE ADULTS). The biggest of them can (according to the website) even double as a spare bed!
(What’s not to love about having your guests snuggle up on a giant poofy beanbags and relive their best teenage years?)
Take your comfort outside
These Saks can also solve your outdoor seating problems. They are light, durable and many of them have the option of interchangeable outdoor covers that are UV and Water-resistant.
Floor cushions are another clever customisable seating solution, and they can once again be used for anything from seating, to lounging, to (if pushed together) spare sleeping space for your younger guests.
Bespoke doesn’t always need to break the budget. With a bit of effort, you can still have the comfort of custom and enjoy that extra bit of home luxury that can make such a big difference to your quality of life.
