Floral art to brighten your day.
When you say “artificial flowers” most people cringe and look away. Over the years, badly made plastic flowers have given this versatile décor item a bad rap.
This bias is often unfounded these days. Just look at what many of the major Interior design shops have done to bring us amazing artificial plants the last couple of years. (We particularly love the Home Quarter…)
Filling your home or workspace with blooms and greenery is a sure fire way to improve your mood…as does looking at art.
So why not combine the two and get the brain boosting benefits of both?
The Forever Flower Studio combines art and botanicals in the most breath-taking way. By meticulously studying, crafting, and recreating the very best nature has to offer in delicate rainbow hued glass beads, they allow their clients to own a bit of nature’s splendour, forever.
The Forever Flower Studio is an artisan studio based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Specialising in home decor items, event or wedding decor, bouquets, light fixtures, wall hangings, hair accessories and so much more.
French beading, and in particular French beaded flowers, is a truly unique art form with artists across the world adding their own magic to it. Many choose to only craft botanically correct flowers, even advertising them under their scientific names, while other artists specialise in fantastic floral creations inspired by nature but influenced by their imagination.
We have fallen in love with these creations and spent way to many hours scrolling through various Instagram feeds from creators across the world.
Here are some of our favourites.
We suggest you get a cup of tea and wander through these online meadows, admiring each flower in turn…

How do you even begin to bead a flower?
As stated above, the technique they use is known as “French beading”. (This is a beading and wirework art form with a long history there are examples of elaborate beaded bouquets as far back as the 18th century.)
Basically, you string tiny glass “seed beads” onto thin pliable wire and then use bending, twisting and looping techniques to form the composite parts of a flower, like petals, leaves stems and stamen which is then assembled into a complete flower.
If this sounds tricky and difficult, it’s because it is!
No, it’s not impossible, and should you have many many many free hours on hand and an infinite supply of glass seed beads, then you could make your own beaded flowers. In fact, why not watch some YouTube tutorials for inspiration?
Even if you never give it a go, (we wont judge you) this will at least give you an appropriate appreciation for all the hard work and skill that goes into making these exquisite blooms.
