Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo 2017 – In Review
The Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo took place Thursday, 31 August to Sunday, 3 September at the CTICC, and attracted just over 31 000 visitors looking to pay tribute to their homes.
Says Sandy Edwards, HOMEMAKERS Branch Manager and Expo Organiser – Cape: “The 2017 Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo offered visitors a wide variety of home-related products and services ranging from kitchens to outdoor living spaces, on-trend décor to concrete designs. The quality of our exhibits were first-class, with many visitors commenting that it was our most beautiful show ever. The Overall Stand Design winner was Hoity Toity Pallet Chic. Top awards in the feature areas went to Patio Warehouse (take it OUTSIDE), Mono Online Shop (live by DESIGN), MIES Body Products (ARTISAN square) and Black Dog Spices (the MARKET).
“We’re delighted with the feedback we’ve received. Considering the current economic climate, exhibitors had an exceptional expo which bodes well for the home improvement industry. Many exhibitors sold out and others generated business leads that will keep them busy for the rest of this year.”
According to Tamzin van Staden and Jackie Lowe of The T-Shirt Bed Co, it was a fantastic experience. “As first-time exhibitors, the sales and leads generated were exceptional and exceeded our expectations, to say the least. We’ll definitely be back.”
Ilse van der Leek of Alucut and Foldo Awnings was just as pleased. “Year on year, HOMEMAKERS has been great for both our businesses. We had a fantastic show and the right kind of clientele for Alucut. I’ve already received orders and the show only ended yesterday. Also, some of the visitors approached us with the most amazing ideas for their projects and home décor.”
Edwards adds that their first ever for the love of CONCRETE Design Competition was also a huge success: “We’re blown away by the success of this competition. We’ve raised a hefty sum for DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) which we know will be spent well. We hope to present it again next year.”
She concludes: “We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all our exhibitors, visitors, sponsors, service providers, the media and staff for their contribution to the success of this year’s Expo. Planning for next year’s show is already under way.”
