Pretoria HOMEMAKERS Expo – In Review
The Parkview Shopping Centre was a flurry of activity from 15th to 17th September with the annual Pretoria HOMEMAKERS Expo finally opening its doors to an enthusiastic crowd in Pretoria East!
As visitors entered, they were greeted by lush décor and tantalized by enigmatic aromas making it hard to decide which way to go first!
The Pentel art wall, covering one side of the Expo, provided hours of fun and enjoyment for guests attending with their children as they got to colour in the vinyl wall paper any which way they pleased.
The HOMEMAKERS Spin the Wheel competition invited visitors to either Sign Up to Spin or pick a concealed yellow ball out of our mysterious black bag. Those who were in luck got to spin to win and walked away with some fantastic prizes from our generous sponsors!
One simply could not walk away without visiting the Skatjagter and Vaatjie feature areas located towards the back of the expo venue. Exuberant TV personalities, Joe and Dol from KykNet’s Toks n Tjops, wowed audiences with innovative ideas on how to transform worn-out furniture pieces in their homes, into timeless pieces of art. Tommy Dickson, AKA Chef Vaatjie, dazzled spectators with mouth-watering recipes and braai demonstrations, in anticipation for Braai/Heritage Day.
With so much to do and so little time, exploring the assortment of stands, exhibits and features proved a task well worthy of the Gourmet Garage deli area to unwind, relax and nibble on the delicious delicacies on offer.
“We enjoyed the mouth-watering goodies, as well as the welcome savings gained on various purchases we done,” exclaimed Carol Durrheim, one of our many satisfied visitors!

A panel of judges selected the winners for the Best Exhibitor Stand Awards.
Top accolades went to Ashley’s Furniture Homestore for their charmingly styled, designed and decorated home space, demonstrating the art of combining warmth and modern décor for a truly inviting ambiance.
