Started by a Dream

Paint Master all started with a literal dream in 1999. After dreaming that the family business was in trouble, Jaco Vosloo resigned from his Corporate IT job and joined the business. In 2001, Jaco along with industry experts, founded the Paint Master Premium range to meet the need of manufacturing their own quality paint at affordable prices.

According to Tjhoko Paint Sales and Marketing Manager, Nadine Vosloo, they focus on providing products that are known for consistent quality. “The Paint Master products were designed by painters for painters. No quality aspect was overseen and great emphasis was placed on quality and consistency. No one painting would like to have batch and colour variances. Jaco took great care to get it right from the start,” She Says.

Paint Trends

When talking about current trends Nadine had these tips for different areas:

Home Exteriors

We find ourselves in eclectic times where colour needs to fulfil the individual’s need and preference. We however see little use of beige and more grey undertone colours are popular although there are no rules. Who wants to be a trend follower if you can be a trend setter?

The main rule is that our customers need to feel happy and we ensure we give the best advice to match exterior colours that match with the existing roof colours and fit in with their setting. Colours may differ from coastal areas to inland areas due to the change in setting and surrounding. Many factors need to be considered. We follow national and international trends and will give the best possible advice.

Roofs and gutters

Black, charcoal and brown roofs seem to be most popular at the moment although there are no set rules. Gutters need to flow with the exterior colour used and usually it is painted two tones darker than the main exterior colour.

Home interiors

There is much to deliberate on interior colours and trends due to the wide seen trends and eclectic décor tendencies. Scandi Chic and minimalist décor trends are popular with neutral warm grey tones used on walls.

Textures, natural elements and neutral warm tones on walls are well-liked. We listen to our clients and consider their preferences and [taste] when giving advice.

Colour also remains popular. Splashes of colour on furniture pieces to give some excitement is a widespread trend.

Getting to know each individual client’s personality type determines whether we recommend the use a neutral palette or a palette filled with some colour. The secret is to ensure that the end result speaks of class and style irrespective of the colour palette being used.
