HOMEMAKERS Gift Guide
The festive season is a time to celebrate many things other than Christmas. Appreciation of those you love is high on your to-do list this year and making or buying something special for your loved ones this year especially, is a great idea! We share our gift guide to add to your shopping list here!
A Good Coffee Table Book
Coffee table books are always inspiring and if you are choosing one as a gift for someone this year, consider the person’s interest first. From fashion and travel to photography and astronomy, you can find a beautiful book on any topic.
Cosy House Shoes
Honestly, nothing beats a cosy pair of slippers and it does not have to be tacky at all. Take the time to find the perfect pair. There has never been a better time to invest in a high-quality pair of house shoes or sliders. Find something in a cosy material with soft faux fur or even cashmere.
Chess or Backgammon Set
Traditional board games are a winner over the holidays. You can find gorgeous luxury sets online made from beautiful materials like wood and suede. Both games are of the oldest board games ever made. Backgammon and chess are both classic games that never go out of fashion. It is also a great activity to play on rainy days or during long car rides or plane trips. We love these trendy gameboards from Jonathan Adler.
DIY It
A plant starter-kit is a great DIY Christmas gift for your green-fingered friends, putting together a plant starter kit filled with succulents and herbs. Choose three to four small potted plants and put them in a wooden box or crate to keep them together. If you’re going with succulents, add small jars of gravel, soil, sand and a glass vase (geometric vases look great) as a succulent terrarium starter kit.
Personalised mugs are an easy DIY Christmas gift. All you need is a white mug, a Sharpie Paint permanent marker (oil-based permanent marker) and a little creativity. From custom monikers to quotes, drawings and fun patterns, a personalised mug is a special way to show how well you know your friends and family. The idea can be used on any heatproof porcelain-like teacups, teapots or plates.
