Lights are the perfect addition to add a touch of magic and cheer to your home over the holidays. Wrap shrubs or larger trees in your front garden to create a whimsical effect with white battery-operated LED’s. LED’s are dainty and always look lovely when used with your plants. 

Now is the time to add special details to your front door and entryway. Make use of string lights, pretty garlands and wreaths. You can never go wrong with traditional green and red decorations, but get creative by incorporating your family traditions and environment.  

DIY It  

Time at home with family at this time of year gives you a lot of time to spend on holiday-inspired DIYs. Make some time to make personalised yet simple centrepieces or Christmas tree decorations. Your Christmas tree, if you celebrate, is a pretty big deal too. Christmas trees come in all shapes, sizes and colours. Living in South Africa has also made us see Christmas trees being created out of unusual or recycled objects. The options are really endless and decorating your tree is something you can do with the whole family. Something you can do over the years is to collect mini Christmas-inspired figurines. Keep collecting your miniatures so that one day, you’ll eventually have an entire mini Christmas village to display. It’s cute and pretty too! 

Include outdoor areas or patios for your festive season decorating. This is another great space to incorporate twinkling string lights and seasonal decorations. Candles are a favourite on the patio during long summer evenings.
